Family sessions have always been some of my favorite sessions to photograph, but after having my own little guy they have an extra special meaning to me!❤️ Anyone with a child knows just how fast they grow up, which is why capturing these moments is SO important. From the little toes and fingers of a newborn, to the little happy giggles of a toddler being hugged by his parents, all these small memories end up being absolutely priceless and a treasure to be able to look back on.😍 That’s why I’m so excited to share the DuFours family session with you. We decided on an in-home family session in the comfort of their Chicago home, let’s take a look at what made it so special!

The DuFours In-Home Family Session in Chicago

To start off their in-home family session in Chicago, the DuFours welcomed me into the comfort of their home where they just recently welcomed their new baby Archer! Being able to photograph both little Archer and his older brother Arlo together is EXACTLY what family sessions are all about!! Their interactions are so pure and something that is constantly evolving as the two get older. Photographing these interactions is just part of what makes these sessions so special. Our session was filled with lots of kisses, LOTS of snuggles, and maybe a little bit of jumping on the bed by Arlo!😂 I’m so happy for this sweet and beautiful family, and overjoyed that they included me in this special moment in their lives!!

The Beauty of Family Sessions

Now that we’ve seen the DuFours in-home family session in their Chicago home, one of my all time favorite family sessions by the way, let’s talk a little more about these special sessions! Like I mentioned, capturing these moments of your children as they grow and change is a huge part of what makes these sessions great. But do you know the other equally important part of this session? That’s right, you the parents!! Just like your kiddos, your life and love for one another is in a constant state of growth and evolution. It makes total sense then that, just like capturing a massive moment like your wedding, photographing these changes and evolutions in your love should be a priority. Whether it’s with an in-home session like the DuFours, or a session somewhere public like North Avenue Beach, family sessions are a MUST in my book!!
